Workshop on Targets for Laser Fusion- Laserlab Europe

This one-day workshop focuses on the latest advancements in Inertial Fusion Energy (IFE) target design, fabrication, and experimentation. The event will highlight progress in foam and nanostructured materials, innovations in 3D printing for target manufacturing, and developments in cryogenic and high-repetition-rate target technologies.

The agenda will include:

• Lubomir Hudec (CVUT): Foam modelling and simulations
• Sébastien Le Pape (LULI): Recent experimental results on foam physics
• Nemo Sikanic (UpNano GmbH): High-resolution 2PP 3D printing of polymer laser targets
• Speaker TBC: Plastic shells for LMJ experiments
• Tobias Fehrenbach (Diamond Materials GmbH): Diamond-based targets for IFE and future prospects
• Mattia Cipriani (ENEA): High-power laser irradiation of 3D-printed microstructures: simulations and experiments
• Chris Spindloe (Scitech): Target mass production strategies
• Gabriel Schaumann (Focused Energy Inc.): R&D for direct drive IFE schemes in Darmstadt

The workshop will conclude with a Round Table Discussion on strategies to scale target production for future high-repetition-rate experiments and industrial applications.
